what to expect on the day.

Pre-Floating Prep & On The Day

Pre-floating prep

The following tips are advised before floating:

Freshly shaven, tattooed or broken skin can become very irritated with the high concentration of salt in the water. However, we do provide Vaseline to help protect small scratches and grazes.

Avoid caffeinated drinks at least 2 hours before your session to assist in you reaching a deeply relaxed state.

A light meal or snack is advised an hour or two before your float.

We do not wear outdoor footwear in the float rooms, so feel free to bring some sliders if you would like.

What would you like to gain from your float? Releasing a muscle or joint ache, calming your anxiety, prepping for an exam, interview or competition. Whatever it may be visualising it will help it to happen. Put your desired outcome into the universe and you shall receive.

On the day

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time. This gives you chance to get acquainted with your surroundings, we will be there to introduce ourselves and show you around.

Our staff will discuss what you are aiming to gain from your float experience, so that we can help tailor the experience to suit your goals. Whether you are just looking to relax, relieve aches and pains or improve your mental welbeing.

It’s always a good idea to use the toilet upstairs before going down. We don’t have them in the float rooms to keep them sanitary. Each room is completely private and fully equipped with your own shower, toiletries, towel, changing space and of course, your own state of the art float pod. We will show you how to adjust lighting  and how to call for asssitance using the buttons located within the tank.

Please take a lukewarm shower and avoid using shower gel, shampoo or conditioner before your float. This keeps the tanks clean and the Epsom salts at their ultimate level of buoyancy. The temperature of the water in the pod is the same as skin temerature (35.5 degrees). Therefore, a lukewarm shower allows your body to easily adjust to the temperture of the pod.
